In commemoration of her beautiful first exhibition in London - Community of Elsewheres, Alice O'Malley's book of portraits of rare beauties of the New York's Lower East Side. Community of Elsewheres is a hard back cloth bound 48 page, 18 plate book featuring many of her subjects, including Kembra Pfahler, Mistress Formika, Page Reynolds, Nicole Eisenman and Antony. Text by Eileen Myles, Lia Gangitano and Antony. This book is signed by the artist in an edition of 500.
Alice O'Malley is a New York photographer whose portraits comprise an archive of downtown's most notorious artists, performers, and muses. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the US and Europe, including PS1/MOMA, International Center of Photography, and Participant. O'Malley's first monograph, Community of Elsewheres, was published in conjunction with a solo exhibition by the same name. Her photographs have been appeared various publications, including The New Yorker, Art in America, Vogue, I-D, and The New York Times.
